11.11am, Eating breakfast. We all woke up kind of late today, and then Cat and I went to get iced coffees from a really cute coffee shop along the canal, and pick up some brekkie/picnic bits. We sat around the sunny table, eating avocado on toast, fruit, pastries and coffee and just chat chat chatted. It was a gorgeous day and we had the city at our disposal. As we’d all been to Amsterdam before, there was no pressure to do or see anything, so we decided to go to Vondelpark (right near our apartment) and take a picnic. We ended up staying there for hours, just… chat chat chatting. Man, it’s so nice to have some quality time here!
In the evening, we went for dinner at a restaurant called Mama Kelly’s. It was a recommendation…and such a good one! The decor was all pink and gold, and, although the gimmick of it all was really cool, the food was amazing too! We drank bubbles and ate lobster (Catdog had a salt-encrusted fish that had to be broken out its salt crust by a chef at the table) and basically just bloody loved it. We decided to walk back to nearer where we were staying, where there were some really cute bars. We stopped halfway for ice cream (where a whole truck full of foreman also pulled up for an ice cream stop), then kept walking until we found a gorgeous pub with a cute outside beer garden and lots of fairy lights. We only meant to stay for one, but the atmosphere and the drinks (and the chat) was all too good so we stayed for a few hours and had a ball. Then we walked home and, of course, stayed up too late chatting.
