Saturday 30 December – St Ives by day, Penzance by night

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, getting home from a run with the run group I go out with on a Saturday morning. Kate came too this morning, which was ace, then in the afternoon, we all headed over to St Ives and played games on the beach and had an epic walk over to Porthgwidden. Epic because we saw dolphins and seals!
In the evening, I went for dinner with Kate, Jim, Pip and Jo, to a curry house, then to the pub where Andy joined us. It was such a fu night, I laughed so much!

Thursday 28 December – Zac's birthday bouncing

Current location: Redruth
11.11am, Bouncing! We were at a trampoline park for Zac's birthday and it was SO FUN. I bloody loved it, there was a mini ninja warrior set-up, and dodgeball and duels and all sorts of trampoline-based fun! Afterwards, Andy and I carried on up the coast and went for a beautiful walk around St Agnes Head, then up to Nicky and James' place... Then up to Wadebridge for a lovely mince pie and mulled wine night at our friends Helen and Dave amazing house (then back to Nicky's for a sleepover). Seen a lot of Cornwall today!

Wednesday 27 December – All of us

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Organising meeting Claire for the afternoon. We had a potter in town with Anna, did a bit of sales shopping, and then went for a hot chocolate. In the evening the Reeses Pieces had all made their way down, so all 17 of us went out for fish and chips at Frasers! It was ace to have everyone there, predictably hectic but really lovely.

Tuesday 26 December – Little visitors

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Being in a post-Christmas laze. Andy and I just hung out at home, then the Harrisons came over to play!

Monday 25 December – Our Cornish Christmas

Current location: Sennen
11.11am, Swimming! Or, more accurately, huddling on the beach trying to warm up after the annual Christmas Sennen Sea Swim! This morning started out with Andy and I waking up in our apartment (this first time I have ever woken up on Christmas Day in my own place, rather than someone else's house!) and Skyping the Aussie family, then having my fave brekkie (bacon and avocado toast).
We went over to Mum and Dad's to pick them up, then off to Sennen for the swim. It was so fun... so funny, was the tide was so far in, so everyone was squished in together, falling over rocks and getting smashed by waves (not as scary as it sounds!).
Once we'd warmed up and got changed, we went back to Mum and Dad's and opened some pressies with the Harrisons who were very cute and excited, then went over to the Pyrahs for an afternoon of Twinkies (Champagne and elderflower liqueur), Christmas dinner, lots of presents, some bizarro games and quizzes and a lot of general merriment. I had such a brilliant afternoon, and the kids were all so fun. Andy and I stayed for cheese and wine in the eve, then headed home to open our pressies from each other. Merry Christmas!

Sunday 24 December – Christmas Eve coffees

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Having coffee at my house, with all my best friends from school. It was the first time since we left school in 2002 that we had all been in one room again, thanks to lots of us moving countries/being in Olympics haha. It was so bloody special!
Afterwards, I went for a quick sea swim (bloody freezing) and then went to hang out with the Harrisons who arrived late last night. Vinny, Andy and I went for a quick (and unsuccessful) murm hunt, then to Christmas mass at church.

Saturday 23 December – A whole day of festivities

Current location: Penzance
11.11pm, In the Dock. Today is Tom Bawcock's Eve, and as a result, Andy and I were in the pub we first kissed in, singing Cornish sea carols, with our best mates. In the daytime was our annual Christmas lunch at Halsetown Inn, and I would say this year was one of the best. Funny games, quizzes, amazing food, many drinks, lots of sparkle – today had all the elements of the best Christmassy day ever.
