Friday 3 January – Walk and talk

Current location: Newlyn
11.11am, An organising morning. I went for a lunchtime walk with Mum towards Mousehole, then in the afternoon Andy and I walked to Porthleven from Rinsey. He surfed and I read my book on the beach and then had a walk. Then home, dinner, TV and sleep.

Wednesday 1 January – Starting with a swim

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Heading to Mum’s to pick up Claire… We were going swimming at Jubilee Pool! It was soooooooo cool, proper icy, but it was a fab way to start the day. And thanks to working last night, I didn’t even have a hangover. I still enjoyed a post-swim bacon sarnie though, and then we went to the park to play with the Harrisons before they headed back to Stroud. It’s been ace this holiday.

Tuesday 31 December – New year gin

Current location: Penzance
11.11pm, Working at 45 Queen Street. Andy was DJing and I was behind the bar, and it was a good night. Lots of good vibes, nice people, my sister and Matt came in, and it was just good fun! Happy new year peeps.

Monday 30 December – Mousehole magic

Current location: Penzance
11.11pm, At Mum’s. We were having a wine with Claire (the boys went out) and before that had been to Mousehole to see the lights.

Sunday 29 December – All together

Current location: Sennen
11.11am, Walking down the dunes at Sennen. The Harrisons arrived last night and we all managed a big walk and play at Sennen, before heading back to Mum and Dad’s for a second Christmas. We had such a nice afternoon, opening and playing with pressies, sneaking out for a quick sister wine and being all together.

Saturday 28 December – Gwitihan gang

Current location: Hayle
11.11am, Having a big walk. The Rees family are down, so we all went for a big long walk and beach hang, then for a hot chocolate to warm up.

Wednesday 25 December – Merry Christmas 2019!

Current location: Sennen
11.11am, Getting out the sea. I love this tradition, even though it’s bloody freezing. Today was so sunny, so busy and so cold, and we loved our Sennen swim! Afterwards we went to the Old Success to warm up with mulled cider, then went home to make pigs in blankets to take round to the Pyrahs. We had an amazing Christmas lunch there (14 different things, Jo is such a good cook!) and then opened pressies and spent the afternoon lounging around, playing games and having a chilled festive time. After Christmas pud, we headed home via a drink at Mum and Dad’s. Merry Christmas everyone.

Tuesday 24 December – A new Christmas tradition

Current location: Penzance
11.11pm, Watching a horror film (Black Christmas, the 1974 version). After mass tonight, we had a drink with Mum and Dad and then came home to watch horror and eat Indian takeaway. Definitely a new tradition.

Monday 23 December – My lovely girls

Current location: Penzance
11.11pm, Getting home from Tom Bawcock’s Eve. It was predictably ace, with lovely singing at the Dock, after a gorgeous day with great girls. I met my schoofriends for lunch in Hayle, and then headed to Gwithian for a walk and coffee with Rhian and Annabel. Such good people today.

Sunday 22 December - Our annual dream day

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Getting ready for the afternoon. We were meeting at the Tinners in Zennor for our annual Halsetown dinner (but sadly the Halsetown closed, so we have changed venue). And oh my, what a venue it is. We arrived to a big space by the fire, everyone is a very festive mood, and so much lovely and frivolity in the air. We ate amazing food, swapped really good Secret Santa pressies and did a quiz. I love love loved today. Then we got a life back to Ruth and James’, kept drinking, played games, ate more and had the best eve after the best day.
