Thursday 28 May - Getting the swims in

11.11am, At work, at home. The weather is so glorious at the moment, so I made a plan to go for a swim at lunchtime at Battery Rocks, and my sister joined me.

Wednesday 27 May – Messing up the dream eve

11.11pm, Getting ready for bed. I thought I had a work meeting in the evening, so Andy and I dashed to Gwenver for a post-work swim, then dashed back again so I could have the meeting. It was such a gorgeous evening and we really didn’t want to leave the beach, but leave we did… to find out when I got home that the meeting is tomorrow, oops.

Tuesday 26 May – Babies born

11.11am, At work. I went for a walk with Mum at lunchtime and saw baby seagulls being born!

Monday 25 May - Big busy beaches

11.11am, Reading in bed and being lazy. As the sunshine came out, we headed over to Gwithian. It’s a massive beach so doesn’t usually get too busy but today it was rammed. Luckily it was easy to social-distance because it’s so big (how weird to even be thinking about that).

Sunday 24 May – Ibiza lockdown party

11.11pm, On Zoom. We were supposed to be in Ibiza this weekend for Catdog’s hen do, but obviously the world has turned upside-down and that’s not happening. We instead had an awesome Zoom party; the girls organised it so well, we all dressed in our Ibizawear and had such a funny time making cocktails and playing games. I had beach hair from an earlier swim at Sennen.

Saturday 23 May – Silent St Ives

11.11am, In St Ives, sitting on the beach. I have never seen it so quiet. Especially when you consider it’s a sunny bank holiday weekend. I sat and drank a coffee and read my book and paddled and then we headed back to Pz. In the eve we went to Sennen, and then had fish and chips on the beach at Newlyn. Such a glorious day where we really celebrated where we live.

Friday 22 May – Dress up day

11.11pm, Chatting to the uni girls. Tonight we had a Murder Mystery on Zoom, and I was playing two characters: a Cockney mechanic and a posh sea captain. It was so funny, and I do love how this weird time is enabling me to talk more with my previous friends from afar. I love them so bloody much.

Wednesday 20 May – Beach chill

11.11am, Heading to Sennen. I had the day off today (due to be travelling to Ibiza!) and had kind of forgotten about it, so it was the best type of the day off, where you don’t have any plans. Although I never have any plans at the moment. But we had such a dreamy warm, sunny, fun few hours on the beach.

Tuesday 19 May – Fixing it with chocolate and sunshine

11.11am, Working and eating. I had made brownies and took every excuse to eat them. I was having a bit of a weird mental health day so I took a walk in the sunshine and sat for a while, and it helped.

Saturday 16 May – Running with company

11.11am, Getting home from a run/walk. I ran out to meet Kate at Long Rock, and we had a run together. The weather was amazing so we ended up getting in the sea in our undies, and then I had a soggy walk home. It was such a lovely morning and made me realise how much nicer running is with other people!

Friday 15 May – The most amazing evening

11.11pm, On a Zoom call, having drinks/quiz with friends. Oh my goodness, after work we went to the beach and it was STUNNING. We are now allowed to go and sit on a beach, according to the restrictions, and so we chose one of our favourites, and wowee did it deliver! So stunning, the sea was so cold, but it was just so special. Andy stayed in the water and nearly gave himself hypothermia, but basically it was all incredible.
