Friday 27 April – To Prague

Current location: Newquay Airport
11.11am, Having a coffee with my dad. He drove me up here this morning, then I flew to Birmingham, where I read and had a glass of wine and waited a couple of hours for my flight to Prague. The flight was full of stag and hen parties (I guess flying on a Friday night to Prague means I shouldn’t have been surprised at that!), and when I arrived I went to meet my very own hen ladies. Our gorgeous girl Anita is getting married next week, so 9 of us have met for a weekend in Prague. They’d all arrived earlier so were out at dinner. I went to the hotel to drop my bags off, then had a beautiful walk through the city. It was buzzing, and so so beautiful. However, I then walked outside of the city centre and got a bit scared in the dark streets – but I made it to the restaurant, and thus began a brilliant night. We had dinner at Sasazu, then it was time for dancing! Nina had got us entry to some clubs so we went for a hilarious hour at an 80s club, where we danced with an old man (he was 82) and drank prosecco through penis straws, then we left to go to Epic Club, where we drank vodka and danced with each other. Bree and I left at about 3am (these Austrians can party hard, and didn’t leave until about 6am!), got some chips and walked home.

Tuesday 24 April – Ru time

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Hanging with Ruan. I’m working from home today, and Ruth and Ruan popped in so we had a hang and a giggle. This eve I went to the gym for 2.5 hours (doing 4 classes!)

Sunday 22 April - Driving home

Current location: In the car.
11.11am, On our way back to Penzance, with a stop in Honiton for lunch. When I got home, I went down to Battery Rocks to read my book for a bit, then went to the gym and had an early night. It felt a bit weird coming back without Andy (who’s stayed in London, on account of going to Portugal on Wednesday).

Saturday 21 April – Party party party (and sausages)

Current location: Balham
11.11pm, Dancing and eating sausage sandwiches! Tonight is Kate and Jim (and their friend Henry)’s joint 40th party, at The Exhibit in Balham, and most of my family were able to go (except Claire, who has a beautiful newborn baby). We started the day with a run (Kate, Pippa and I), then Kate and I had a gorgeous relaxed morning, going to get our nails done and having a coffee, then heading tot he park to have a picnic with everyone else. It was so dreamy! Then we had a little nap in the afternoon, I read my book on the sofa with my niece Ella, then we had sausage and mash for tea and got ready for the party. It was so so much fun catching up with Kate’s friends and dancing loads with Pippa and Andy. We got home around 1.30am then stayed up debriefing and drinking tea, naturally.

Friday 20 April – Sunny London

Current location: In a car.
11.11am, On our way to London. I was in the car with Andy, my parents and my sister Pippa, and it was such a funny journey, we all laughed a lot. Especially as the journey dragged on and we slowly lost our minds. When we arrived, my sister Kate poured us a prosecco and we sat in the garden, then went for a wine and came home for dinner.

Thursday 19 April – Baby visitors

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Working from home. It meant I had a little visitor in the afternoon, in the form of Toby, Lily’s little boy. What a sweetie. In the evening, our car had broken down (boo). But it got fixed (yay!) and the sun came out, so Andy and I had a walk to Long Rock and a beer on the beach.
