Friday 13 July – Shoot day

Current location: Porthleven
11.11am, Out on the cliffs, doing a photoshoot for Wed magazine. It was a reallllllly good one, the model Tessa was amazing, and the crew we had were a really fun bunch. Plus it was a scorcher of a day, so the photographer, Kirstin, and I even managed a little swim halfway through the shoot!

In the evening, Andy and I went to Mousehole, where the ‘Sea, Salt & Sails’ festival was on, so we had a beer and did some jumping into the sea off the pier (not in that order) then rode home for dinner.

Wednesday 11 July – Sha's last day

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Going for a coffee. Sha and I were working from home again today (while Andy was in St Agnes), and we started the day with a walk out towards Long Rock, where we talked about all the big issues. When we got home, we got stuck into work, then went to Jubilee Pool for a coffee (and a sausage roll). The rest of the day was a mix of work, tea and snacking (like all my work-from-home days!), then when Andy came home we went for a drive to Sennen for a quick walk on the beach. We had dinner at the Cornish Barn, then a couple of drinks.
I'm so sad Sha is leaving tomorrow morning. It has been so normal having her here, yet so extra-special. It's like everything has just made a bit more sense; been a bit funnier, a bit lovelier, a bit sunnier. She is like no-one I have met and I am so appreciative that she came to see us in this beautiful (if remote!) part of the world.

Tuesday 10 July – Squeezing in the friends

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Working from home. Lunchtime saw us going over to Trevaylor Woods with a yummy picnic, and having a gorgeous little walk. After work Andy and I had a swim with our friend Tom, then in the evening, Sha and I went to Newlyn Cinema to gate-crash Ruth and James' date night, and see my sister, then have a prosecco with Mum and Dad at theirs.

It appears I didn't take any photos today, so here's one of me and Mum after a little run last week.

Monday 9 July – St Ives holidaying

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Working from home. Sha, Andy and I all sat at home doing work, then at lunchtime we made the most of the gorgeous weather and went to the Jubilee Pool for a swim and a crab sandwich. It was so delightful. After work, Andy dropped Sha and I in St Ives, where we had a wander through the cemetery, then a walk through the town, an ice cream at the harbour, and dinner and wine at the Rum & Crab Shack. Then we moseyed a bit more and caught the bus home, like teenagers, then watched the best/worst movie ever (the Lifetime TV movie about Harry & Meghan). If you want to know how bad/good it was, you need only know one thing: the part of Diana was played by a lion.

Sunday 8 July – Paradise found

Current location: Penzance
11.11am, Having a lazy morning. We sat around and had breakfast, and then headed over to Mousehole for a walk around the village and a swim/jump into the harbour. We had a drink at the Coastguard, then came home for a nap/rest (it’s tiring being on holiday!), ate some ‘resting chips’ and watched a bit of netball (me) and read magazines (Sha). In the late afternoon/early evening, we drove over to Treen and walked to Pedn Vounder. It’s a scramble down the cliffs, but probably the most worth-it scramble I’ve ever done. It was like dropping down into paradise, with crystal-clear waters surrounded by dramatic cliffs. It also happens to be an unofficial nudist beach. Andy had made us some amazing salads, and we sat out in the last of the evening sunshine, feeling quite emotional and very, very lucky.
