Saturday 14 November - My first loaf

11.11am, Getting home from a run/walk with Pippa. Then I lounged around a lot of the day, with the only productive thing being I made my first ever loaf of bread! It was so yummy and we ate almost all of it within a couple of hours (the toast is avodado, goats cheese and pomegranate - looks weird, taste amazing). The afternoon was spent catching up on this blog (always so much still to do!) and then a takeaway dinner from Mermaid Alley, and a horror film.

Friday 13 November - Still in the sea

11.11am, Working, and then Mum called. “Fancy a swim at lunchtime?” She’s hard to say no to, and I love that she pushes me to make the most of my surroundings, plus I love seeing her, so off I went. We went in yesterday too - it’s soooo cold but I do always feel amazing afterwards. Thanks Mama, I treasure these times!

Saturday 7 November - Making the most of lockdown

11.11am, Building IKEA furniture. I’d been for a run/walk with Pippa and then spent the rest of the day working on building furniture and finishing off our spare room. Nearly there with it now!

Thursday 5 November - Back to the walks

11.11am, At work (from home). I’m trying to get back a bit of time from overtime/evening delivery of virtual netball that I’ve been doing, so today I finished at 4pm and took myself for a nice long walk as the sun was setting. I bumped into a friend walking her dog, and we walked along the beach and I had to pinch myself at how lovely elements of all this can be.

Wednesday 4 November - Last day for now

11.11am, Working. At lunchtime I went over to Mum’s, to make the most of being able to hang out at hers before lockdown comes in tomorrow. Such a weird feeling/thought, but hopefully we can just enjoy some outdoor walks etc. In the evening, we had a quick drink at the Lamp & Whistle, then I had netball training and had lots of fun just playing around a bit before we go on hold for another month or two!

Sunday 1 November - Leaving our bubble

11.11am, Reading by the fire! Yes, there’s a theme to this weekend. We’ve felt utterly relaxed and lovely. Unfortunately while we were here, the second lockdown got announced, so we decided to go into Truro and get a few bits for Lockdown 2.0. We chose some new books and I got some colouring pencils and then we had dumplings (bad) and then to the pub for cocktails (good) and yummy chips. Then back to Newlyn for a quick rainbow run and to bunker down for another month.

Saturday 31 October - Happiest halloween

11.11am, Reading by the fire. This was honestly all we wanted to all day, it’s such a gorgeous sot and we were both up for some serious chill-out time, and so fully embraced it. In the afternoon, we had a gorgeous Autumnal walk and then went to the Helford and borrowed a friend’s canoe and had a little paddle down the river. Then back to our magic cabin for reading, dinner and wine by the fire. The happiest.

Friday 30 October - Falmouth frolics

11.11am, A little bit of hang time in the morn. Then in the middle of the day, we went to Falmouth and had a mosey and lunch at the Chainlocker. Then we went for a drive, and Andy took me deep into the woods, I had no idea where we were - then we arrived at the most amazing little cabin. It belongs to a friend of Andy’s and is quite simply a magical place. Cue an evening of reading by the fire.

Thursday 29 October - Making my birthday special

11.11am, At work! But feeling happy and spoilt on my birthday. I started the day with a swim with Mum and Dad (Mum swam, Dad took pics), and then worked. In the afternoon I went for a coffee with Ruth and over to the Pyrahs for some cake and pressies, and then Andy surprised me in the evening. We went to the Geothermal pool at Jubilee for an evening swim (although the geothermal but wasn’t working so it was a bit chillier than expected), and then told me to get ready and dropped me off at the Cornish Barn. Inside were Ruth, Nicky, Mum, Pippa and Kate L! We had some pink bubbly and it was so cool to be out with them! Then Dad came to pick up Mum and me, and we went back to theirs for dinner. Looking back now (currently writing this from Lockdown 2.0) I can’t believe we got to do all those awesome things. A really special birthday in a really strange time, I’m so lucky.
