Saturday 3 August – Wine tour!

Current location: Near Dunsborough, WA
11.11am, On our way to a very early lunch with some more friends from school in Narrogin. There ended up being 13 of us meeting for lunch and trying to catch up on the past 14 years (in some cases, nine years in other cases and two years in one case). It's so awesome how you can go so long without seeing friends and then just pick up where you left off. I guess it's the beauty of good people!

Lunch at eagle Bay Brewery was super yummy (despite a little snail crawling his way into some salad!) and I had lots of fun playing with my friend Ainslie's little daughter Lily, before the eight of us had to rush back to the house. We got picked up in a minibus by Stuart (who quickly became Stuey), who was taking us on an afternoon/evening wine tour.

We ended up visiting four family-run boutique wineries, and all four were so different but so interesting. And I don't think I've ever drunk (or bought!) so much wine in my life. The tour ended with a delicious dinner in Lamont's; I ate duck, which was amazing, and we were served by Kate Lamont herself.

Pretty full of wine, we decided to finish off the night going to Clancy's Fish Bar for a beer! By the time we got back to our amazing house, we were all pretty tired so flopped out on the couch and watched Paranormal Activity, until one by one all the girls fell asleep.
