Tuesday 3 May - Our new local

Current location: Lewisham, London
11.11pm, Laughing laughing laughing. Earlier in the eve, Andy had wanted to watch the Barcelona v Real Madrid football match, so we had the bright idea of checking out the pub at the end of our road. Despite being in the middle of residential-ville (or perhaps, because of it), our road is fully equipped with a newsagents/off licence, a pub and a Chinese takeaway. All within a minute's walk. So, off to the pub, Hansburys, we went. As we walked in, it fell silent. "You're not from round these parts, are you love?" was the first question.

Well, we are now! So we ploughed on with chatting to the very local locals, who I think had been drinking there for the last 40 years. And within minutes, we were welcomed into the fold! I now consider Steve a firm friend, and send wishes to his mum, brothers, job, room, ex-wife, drinking habits, patients and everything else he told me about.
