Thursday 23 December – Mousehole meanders

11.11am, Having a walk with Kate. We bumped into Emma who is down for Christmas and staying in Mousehole, and then saw Helen (who’s doing the same) and someone suggested a swim! As the sun was out and I haven’t been in the sea for ages, I agreed too, and borrowed Helen’s cossie for a very quick and cold splash in the sea pool. We warmed up with tea and mince pies, then Kate and I (and her boys) ate pasties on the beach. An unexpected but lovely morning with some of my oldest friends.

Today is Tom Bawcock’s Eve, which would usually mean a night of singing and drinking in the Dock, but instead we had a walk through Mousehole with Lou and Charlie, an outdoor drink at the Old Coastguard and an early night.
