Sunday 19 September – Scilly Day 3 on St Agnes

11.11am, Walking! This morning we got up and had brekky, then headed down to the boats that take people the off-islands. Today we were going to explore St Agnes, the island we had an amazing camping holiday on this time last year. We had a bit of a mosey walk over to Troytown to have an obligatory ice cream (best ever, honest), and then headed to the beach near Gugh. We had a cold swim and a happy couple of hours in the sunshine, then went for a couple of sunny afternoon drinks at the Turks Head. It's so nice to be back here and see what's changed (a few things, no pigs or cow that we saw last year) and what's the same (everything else), and revisit some parts of the island we loved from last year. By the time we headed back to the boat and got home, we'd walked about 12km, and were geared up for a quiet Sunday evening. Everything was closed and we hadn't planned very well dinner-wise, so we rustled up a slightly random stirfry and managed to find an open pub (Scillonian) where we played cards and earwigged in on a football group having their beginning-of-season planning session. Lads!
