Wednesday 31 October – Walks and talks

Current location: St Mawes
11.11am, Heading out for a walk at St Anthony’s Head. We had a lovely chilled morning at the amazing hotel, eating such a good brekkie (mine included avocado and poached eggs on toast, a smoothie, a coffee, toast and marmalade, granola with yoghurt and fruit, and Danish pastries. We had a big old walk around the headland, chatting the whole way and sheltering when it started raining. We got back in the van and drove to the north coast of Cornwall, to a place called Crackington Haven. Via there we found a disused airfield, which was quite creepy but also cool. On we went, having a quick walk on the cliffs and identifying our camp spot for the night; we then went to the pub and whiled away the evening, having dinner (burger… yum), reading our books and sheltering from the crazy storm. At one point the power went off, while I was in the toilet, so it was pitch black and then the hand dryer came on by itself. I’m pretty sure it was a poltergeist (it was Halloween after all). We got back to our van, dried off and I watched an episode of The Apprentice while Andy went through photos.
