Wednesday 17 August – #womeninsport

Current location: Sydney
11.11pm, Buzzing. Tonight, Sarah, Andy, Maddie and I went to a Women in Sport event (named Play Like A Girl), where the four speakers talked about their experience as a woman in sport. They were Sharni Layton (Australian Diamonds netballer and one of my idols), Louise Sauvage (Paralympic champion), Shannon Byrne (ABC journalist) and Sally Shippard (former Matilda footballer). They were always going to be interesting, and inspiring – and they were, which I’m sure is no mean feat – but the most surprising thing was how funny they were. It was honestly like being at a comedy festival. What a bunch of bloody legends.
