11.11am, At Little Beach, in Bouddi National Park. I bought Andy a new tent for his birthday and planned for us to come camping here this weekend. It's a beautiful camping spot right on the beach, and you have to walk through about 15 minutes of bush to get there. However, last night we got up here too late to put the tent up, so we stayed at Andy's parents' house, which is only about 20 minutes away. So this morning, we got up bright and early, and headed down to make the most of the lovely weather, a full day at the beach and some pretty awesome waves (Andy, not me. I was making the most of my pretty awesome new book and my pretty awesome sunbathing abilities).
Dave and Val came down to join us for brunch (which they cooked!), as tomorrow is Mother's Day but we won't be able to spend the day with them. So we had a lovely couple of hours, then they left and Andy and I went for a big trek through the bush and along the cliffs to get to another beach. We had to basically abseil down a cliff to get there, which was pretty fun but pretty scary, and then I did more reading and sunbathing, and Andy did more surfing.
The evening brought dark skies early on, so we fired up the barbecue and barbied some sausages, poured some red wine into mugs and sat on the beach for a while. Sausages, wine, beach, Andy. Pretty perfect.
