Saturday 25 January – An impromptu road trip

Current location: On the road north
11.11am, In the car. Jess and I decided to go on an impromptu road trip today, about 3.5 hours north of Sydney, where some of Jess' friends are camping for Australia Dy weekend. We started early this morning and had an awesome time listening to music, drinking smoothies and having the best chats of all time ever.

When we arrived, we went straight to the beach – and it was such a beautiful beach! I didn't know but it was the same beach that my parents had come to when they were here visiting in November. We had a wonderful day in the sea and sunbathing, and getting to know Jess' lovely friends.

Leaving to get a tasty late lunch, we started on a few afternoon ciders then went back to the campsite to put our tents up and head out to local RSL. It was honestly the most beautifully located RSL I could ever imagine; we sat out by a huge lake under some palm trees and watched the sun go down. Ridiculous!

As we went back to the campsite, some of the guys and girls made an amazing feast for all 10 of us, which was a combination of bbq and gourmet deliciousness. I don't know how they did it on camping stoves! We stayed up until the early hours, chatting, eating, drinking and playing games (and congratulating ourselves on the great decision to come up here).
