Wednesday 20 November – The Hunter Valley

Current location: Nulkaba, Hunter Valley
11.11am, In the car. Since we got to Australia almost six months ago, I have wanted to come and visit the Hunter Valley, known for its wineries, and my parents being here seemed like the perfect excuse! We had booked into a really cool little brewery called Potters so, once we'd arrived and packed, we hopped back in the car to go on a winery visit. The first was a stunning place called Tyrrell's, which was established in 1858. The vineyard we were at was started by one guy, who built a tiny home there (which you can still go into) and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been – the view was incredible! We visited a few more wineries and a distillery, then headed back to Potters for a tour and tasting at the brewery. The sun was out and we all bought a few of the specialist beers then sat out for the rest of the afternoon. Next we had a swim as the sun was going down, then met up a bit later for dips and cheese, before going for a delish dinner and getting back to our apartments in time to watch the end of The Bachelor (yes, feel free to judge me!).
