Friday 22 November – Adventuring with Mum and Dad

Current location: Nelson Bay, Port Stephens

11.11pm, Reading in bed. We're in Port Stephens, a few hours up the coast from Sydney. Mum, Dad and I set off this morning, not knowing where we were heading or what we wanted to do, and just kept driving until we found some lovely places. We stopped in Swansea, which is the namesake of near where Mum and Dad come from in Wales. It was a bit grey and quiet so after having some lunch by the river, we carried on. We decided to stop in Nelson Bay for the next couple of nights, as there were gorgeous beaches, a fun little town and lots to do. It was nearly dinnertime when we got there, so we went up to the golf club that was recommended to us and sat out on the balcony, eating dinner, drinking wine and watching the numerous kangaroos!!!
