Monday 11 March - Day 5 in the USA

Current location: San Diego, California
11.11am, On the beach! What better thing is there to do on vacation, especially when it's hot, sunny and you have a beach on your doorstep?! Rianne, Beck and I spent most of the morning on Pacific Beach, while Andy went for a skate on one of his two new skateboards.
Once we had soaked up a few rays, we decided to go and get lunch... fish tacos for me (yum) and a walk along the boardwalk, until we decided we were way too thirsty to possibly do anything else, and we simply had to get a drink. Luckily, Pacific Beach was only too happy to oblige. Even though it was Spring Break and all the bars were busy busy busy, we found a dream spot on a rooftop bar. Sangria and sunshine – our road trip had definitely begun well! We made friends with a couple of drunk Aussies, and made plans for the evening.

A couple of tequilas down (it was Spring Break, after all!) and we went back to our hotel to get ready for the night. The playsuit made its first appearance, and then we walked to a gorgeous Italian place, where the wait for a table was long, but the food was sooo worth the wait. Not wanting to finish our fun night yet, we decided to head into the Gaslamp Quarter. My friend Dan, one of the Hewitt family, was coincidentally in San Diego at the same time, so we somehow managed to coordinate ourselves and meet in a bar called Rockin' Baja. Pretty comedy, and really awesome to catch up with Dan. However, us nanas couldn't last much longer so we took ourselves home to get into bed and do it all again tomorrow.
