Wednesday 15 December - Late-night shopping
Current location: Truro, Cornwall
11.11pm, On our way back from Truro, a small 'city' about 40 minutes up the road from Penzance. It's a bit of a tradition to go there every year for late-night shopping so Mum, Pippa and I hopped on a train and headed up north.
After an early dinner and wine, we hit the shops, helped along by an obligatory glass of mulled wine and a brass band playing Christmas carols. Such an exciting, festive atmosphere!
All was well until we tried to get home; whichever trains weren't cancelled were delayed by over an hour, so we had a long, cold wait at the train station.
