Sunday 5 September - Home and Away

11.11am, Sitting on a couch in north Neukölln. Eating a fig roll. Drinking bubbly water. Signing for a new apartment!! It's super lovely and Andy and I have taken it on for three months. As I've been getting a bit more work recently, I've decided to stay here a bit longer while I decide what to do next.

Our new apartment is so sweet; a branch of the Spree (river) divides Kreuzberg and Neukölln (an area nicknamed Kreuzkölln by the locals) and our apartment is next to the river, and has nice big rooms and a balcony and wooden floors and is four doors down from a cute cafe and bakery. Pictures to follow in about a month, when I live there.

Then we went to Prenzlauer Berg to meet Ruth and Nicky, and we hit Mauerpark. Nicky bought the world's best bag, shaped like an owl, while Ruth bought lovely jewellery and a cardboard cat playing a fiddle.

Next it was onto the rooftop bar of Wombats, where Andy got us lots of cheap drinks. And then we swapped one twin for the other, and Naw took us to The Bird, a seriously amazing Burger place (yes, the Burgers are worthy of a capital B, they're that good). Nicky said that her burger would be her Final Meal, if it ever came to that.

Lots of beer (accompanied by lots of 'Prost'-ing) and shots followed, then I went back with the girls for a sleepover in their apartment.
